About · why this business exists

The problem was never ambition. It was the tooling.

Small and growing businesses everywhere run into the same wall: they need a professional online presence to compete, and the tools meant to provide it are fragmented, expensive and complicated. Most cannot afford separate systems for their website, their customer data and their daily operations, so they either go without or stitch together mismatched tools that waste time and lose customers.

◎

Presence

A website that looks like the business is serious, loads fast, and is built around what the business actually sells, rather than a template with the words swapped out.

⬡

Operations

Customer data captured as it arrives, quotes and invoices issued from the same record, expenses and VAT in the same place. No export, no retyping, no third bill.

↗

Insight

The numbers that follow from the work: what came in, what was quoted, what was paid, what the month actually did. Written down, not remembered.

The problem

Three systems, three bills, and none of them talking.

A small business is told it needs a website, a CRM and accounting software. Each is affordable in isolation and expensive together: not only in money, but in the hours spent copying a name from one place to another, chasing a quote from memory, and rebuilding the same month-end picture by hand.

The result is a business that is present online and not much else. The enquiry arrives and nobody logs it. The quote is sent and never followed up. The invoice goes out late because the job was never recorded properly. None of that is a discipline problem. It is what happens when the tools do not share a record.

And the digital transition is leaving these businesses behind. Larger competitors absorb the cost of integrated systems. A business with five people absorbs the workaround instead, and pays for it in lost customers.
What we build

One platform where the website and the business work together.

Instead of a static site plus a patchwork of third-party software, a business gets its web presence and its operations in one place: customer data captured automatically and turned into insight you can act on.

The site is the front door of the system

Every form, enquiry and download writes into the same records the business runs on. Start from the platform template and the pages, capture points and pipeline are configured around your business, which is why a build takes days rather than months and why the build is included in the price.

The apps are the business, not an add-on

CRM, quotes, invoices, bookkeeping with a VAT return, roles and export. One login, one set of records, one place where a customer's history actually exists. When something is marked paid, the dashboard and the margin move with it.

Accessible, and priced to stay accessible

£497 to £7,500 a year, published on the page, annual so the cost is predictable, with the build included on every plan. The point of building once on one platform is that the price can be a small business price rather than an agency project price.

Yours, and portable

Your contacts, invoices and expenses are your records. Export is a button, not a favour, and leaving at the end of a term does not mean losing the history you paid to build.

Why it matters

Small businesses are the backbone. The digital transition has to include them.

Making these capabilities accessible and affordable is not a niche product decision. Small businesses are the backbone of economies worldwide, and a business that can digitise, compete and grow does more than survive: it hires, it pays local suppliers, and it keeps a high street worth visiting.

That means stronger local economies, greater digital inclusion for the businesses left behind by the digital transition, and more resilient communities, here and further out.

The measurable version

what we count
  • Enquiries captured instead of lost, per business, per month.
  • Days from work delivered to invoice sent, and invoice sent to paid.
  • Hours a week returned by not retyping the same customer into three systems.
  • Businesses that can read their own numbers without an accountant's appointment.

Reported on the impact page as clients are measured, including the numbers that could embarrass us.

Who we are

A start-up built by someone who kept watching the same problem.

Water2Wine Agency builds high-performing websites with integrated built-in apps, so that data collection and operations are seamless for small and growing businesses.

The background behind it is web design, software development, solutions architecture and business strategic operations. Across those years the work was the same in different clothes: strengthening a business's digital presence through website development, digital audits, marketing media and strategic guidance.

Water2Wine was founded to address a challenge that kept appearing: businesses locked out of effective digitisation by fragmented, costly tools. Not for lack of customers, and not for lack of effort, but because the systems they could afford did not talk to each other.

Since then the platform has launched and the first paying clients are live on it. The focus now is the same as it was on day one, at a larger scale: helping small and growing businesses digitise, compete and grow.

How we work

Four things we won't do.

  • Sell a page and call it a system.
  • Quote bespoke and then discount it to win the work.
  • Take on a build we cannot deliver in the days published on the plan.
  • Hold your data or your domain hostage when you leave.

The fastest way to judge this is to use it.

Leave a name and an email and the whole platform opens for seven days, with fictional data you can break. Then decide whether the argument holds up.
